Merck, Inc. recognizes its responsibilities to environmental protection and conservation as well as for the occupational health and safety of its employees and all its assets. Merck, Inc. is committed to achieving excellence in all its business practices with respect to EHS, in full compliance with the prevailing laws of the Philippines and in association with the EHS standards of the Merck Group. EHS improvement requires vigilance by all management personnel and is a priority for every employee at Merck, Inc.

Merck, Inc. will:
  • Commit to comply with applicable EHS-related legal requirements and with other requirements to which Merck, Inc. subscribes
  • Prevent pollution in its use of vehicles and warehousing activity, conserve power, water and paper, reduce waste, and commit to protect the health and safety of employees by providing an accident-free office and warehouse, wherever possible.
  • Provide appropriate training and support to all employees to ensure EHS objectives are realized on a permanent basis.
  • Ensure that all contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies and customers are aware of the EHS policy and practices of Merck, Inc. and the crucial role that EHS plays in Merck, Inc.'s business decisions.
  • Ensure that the Merck, Inc. EHS policy is made available to the public and communicated to all employees as well those people working for or on behalf of Merck, Inc.
  • Ensure necessary and reasonable resources are made available to achieve the EHS objectives and to make improvements where necessary to protect the interests of Merck, Inc., its employees and the environment.
  • Ensure the continual improvement of our health, safety and environmental performance through effective and efficient planning, implementation, monitoring and review of the EHSQ management system.
